10.Will.I.Am. ft. Eva Simons – This is Love
Though it takes half a minute to get into the dance beats, it definitely is worth the wait. With slick lyrics and awesome beats this song is at number 10.
9.Rihanna – Where Have You Been
Coming from her sixth studio album this definitely makes me to dance in a packed club.
8.Azealia Banks – Liquorice
I do like my hip-hop and rap and if Banks’ song 212 was released in 2012 and not last year then that song would have definitely been at the top – but it isn’t. Though this isn’t a song that would get everyone in that dancing mood, it definitely does for me.
7.Cheryl ft. Calvin Harris – Say My Name
The song that brought her back after last year with the X Factor USA happening, is a great dance tune to get everyone up and dancing in a modern day club.
6.Nicki Minaj – Starships
Whether you hate her or not – when this was released earlier this year everyone loved it. Admit it. I did. This song makes me want to jump up and down like a mad hare (meaning very energetic) What I like even more about her is that in her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded album she has dance songs. And this one doesn’t disappoint.
5.Far East Movement ft. Cover Drive – Turn Up The Love
I love songs that make you feel you are on holiday – somewhere exotic – and yes this song does it. I love the instrument they use in the chorus. it’s awesome. The lyrics for good for a dance song and definitely makes me want to dance.
4.Nicki Minaj – Pound The Alarm
OK we can all establish that I love Nicki Minaj A great tune that definitely gets me in that tropical and exotic dance mood.
3.LMFAO – Sorry For Party Rocking
Having been released back in January (UK) this only just makes it into the year 2012 and boy what a tune it is. Though the end isn’t the best way to finish the song (I think) this song is a superb song to get you dancing. plus the whole song is about sorry for partying too much and too loudly – so what better way of saying sorry to neighbours than expressing it by a dance song!
2.Psy – Gangnam Style
Sorry but I’m a sucker for awesome dance songs that have weird (yet amazing) dance moves and Psy’s Gangnam Style is one of them. The top two for me were so close (so technically this could be joint 1st).Though the video is filled with bizarre dance moves everyone wants to do them. Even me. So saddle up and start doing that crazy horse galloping on the dance floor.
1.Sam & The Womp – Bom Bom
Every time I hear this, whether it’s in the club, on my ipod, in a shopping centre or even in the car I always want to start womping to this song (Womping the guys made and is a dance move in the video – you put your hands in front of you, and face them to you and start pushing them back and forth – the woman does it in the video at 0:05). I love it! The trumpet is awesome! The lyrics are easy and this always make me want dance whatever mood I am in.
I know I have missed David Guetta and Example to name a few but these top ten were so close (especially the for first and second) and these are the ones that personally for me get me in that crazy-dance-fever mood.
